Become a Playing Member
New members of the orchestra are always welcome. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 at the Pawtucket Congregational Church, 15 Mammoth Rd. in Lowell. Our first two rehearsals of the season, September 9 and 16, are Open Rehearsals, and all interested classical musicians are welcome to attend. Please bring a music stand and your instrument. We are currently seeking volunteer musicians for all string sections, bassoon, trombone, and tuba. Rehearsals continue weekly into the middle of May, with a two-week break at Christmas.
If you would like to join the orchestra, please send an e-mail to
. Let us know the instrument you play, a
little about your playing experience, and the best way to contact you. We
look forward to hearing from you.
Help out in one of our Non-playing Positions
The Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra is always looking for assistance
in the running of the orchestra. There are many jobs that need to
be done, and only so many orchestra members to do them. If you
are interested in being a part of an orchestra, you can provide
valuable assistance even if you don't play a musical instrument.
The orchestra needs help with fund-raising, both through corporate
contributions as well as advertising sales, and assistance with
equipment is needed at rehearsals and concerts. Don't hesitate to
volunteer. None of the jobs individually requires a lot of time.
And the orchestra is always trying to extend its roots more into
the community beyond just the musicians of the Greater Lowell area.
