Erin Kim, a junior at Lexington High School, began her violin studies at the age of five. She attends the New England Conservatory Preparatory School where she studies with Fudeko Takahashi. Erin has won the Lexington High School Concerto Competition as well as receiving honorable mention in the New England String Ensemble and the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra Competitions.

Erin is a first violinist in the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of New England Conservatory, with whom she has traveled to China and will travel to Venezuela this upcoming summer. She was selected to participate in the MENC All-Eastern Honors Orchestra, where she served as Assistant Principal Second Violin.

In the summer of 2008, Erin attended the Interlochen Arts Camp with an Emerson Scholarship, a full merit scholarship toward intensive study. There, she was a member of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra, which collaborated with Sumi Jo and Olga Kern.

Erin also belongs to a string quartet at the New England Conservatory and is an active musician within her school. She enjoys teaching violin and using her musical abilities to reach out to the community.
