Jennifer Chew, a 17-year-old from Reading, MA, is an 11th grade honor roll student at Phillips Academy in Andover. She has been studying the piano for ten years, the past two with Chris Walter at Phillips Academy.

She regularly performs at her school's student recitals and as a pianist in her school's Chamber Music Society. She understudied the Schumann Piano Concerto with the Reading Symphony Orchestra (RSO) and has performed with the RSO in its annual Children's Concert. She was chosen to perform in the Steinway Piano Dedication Concert at Phillips Academy. She also regularly performs at an assistant living facility in Reading. In addition to the piano, she also studies the viola with Holly Barnes at Phillips Academy. She is a violist in the Phillips Academy Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. She has toured internationally with the school's Chamber Orchestra and Cantata Choir to Prague and Budapest.

Jennifer is also an accomplished dancer and choreographer. She has danced since she was 6 years old, including ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, and Chinese dance. The past winter, she performed the lead role as Clara in Phillips Academy's bi-annual full-length production of The Nutcracker ballet. Most recently, she choreographed a modern dance piece for the Andover Dance Group featured alongside choreography by world-renowned choreographer Mark Morris and by Phillips Academy dance instructors in the dance group's spring performance.

In addition to music and dancing, she is also interested in science. She is the Vice President of her school's Science Club. Since her sophomore year, she has attended the Science Bowl at BU and the Ocean Bowl at MIT. This summer, she will be attending the Boston University Research Internship Program to study Alzheimer's Disease with Dr. Lee Goldstein at the Alzheimer's Disease Center at Boston University School of Medicine.
